In response to several client requests, a few changes have been made to the procedure regarding Special Declarations for Motor Vehicle Importation. Firstly, the documents have been converted to fillable PDF files for consistency and ease of use.  Here are the other changes:

1. The Declaration Registration field has been removed – the declaration will be assigned the Customs Reference number only after assessment.
2. Letterheads are no longer required – The documents have been standardized.
3. The Document Codes have been modified – The prefix SD (Special Declaration) has now been assigned to each version, as follows:   
• SD01 - Special Declaration for Vehicles Imported by Individuals
• SD02 - Special Declaration for Vehicles Imported by Dealers
• SD03 - Special Declaration for Vehicles Imported by Concession Holders

These changes will be made effective Monday April 10, 2017 and declarations already submitted with the previous version of the special declaration will still be processed by the respective units.
